I do not wish to turn my blog into a single issue forum, however the abuse that junior doctors are receiving in the NHS means all of us must act to protect them from bullying and restrictions of their basic right to freedom of speech. This is a comment I received earlier today:
Thats nothing, I had one consultant jump down my throat the other day for daring to interrupt him.
And then he accused me of being divorced from reality
He insulted me twice in less than half an hour and he thinks hes the bees knees cos hes the clinical lead
I told him not to take that tone of voice with me
But abuse of power is nothing new
My medical director abused and psychologically bullied me for almost two years and she got away with it
The medical profession sucks,I was banned from DNUK because I dared to post up a 9 and half page account of the bullying I had received from her and my other colleagues
Those people threw me to the fucking wolves
I am now back working but they tried to completely crucify me
Scot Junior is nothing new, its just that now with the advent of the Internet that a lot more people know about abuses like this.
The medical profession sucks. What a damning statement and you can tell that this doctor is not alone. Please copy and paste the red ribbon on the top left and put it on your own blogs. If you don't have a blog, then please publicise it in any way you can. This is a campaign that needs to get national prominence.

Andrew, there's something a little troubling in that commenter's manner and it jumped out of the text. Whilst there no doubt is this bullying etc. going on [and education is another area], I'd be a bit circumspect about the 'all or nothingness' of this particular testimony.
James What I posted is perfectly true... I was bullied, and I was thrown to the wolves and what happened with the clinical lead the other day is also almost verbatim
If you find it a bit troubling it is because it is very real to me.. even 18 months later...
