Total madness under Labour
If you want to know how life has changed under a Labour government in the last twelve years, read this. I will be blogging about it tomorrow, and linking it to the ComRes poll that puts the Conservatives on 38% and Labour and the LibDems on 23%.
hmm I don't think one story really "shows how much life has changed!"..
As a matter of fact shouldn't all child carers be CRB checked!?
However, I also feel Ofsted have been heavy handed in this particular case. It is worth noting though that if one of these policewomen turned out to be a paedophile, then the governments scheme would have been viewed very differently!..
It's only in RARE cases like these that exceptions are found. Ofsted cannot possibly make provisions for every single eventuality but it does need a pinch of common sense. Two police officers, both CRB checked, both mum's, and child minding each other's children - That's a pretty safe bet.
I don't agree that this is an example of "how life has changed!"... I think for that statement you should be looking more to the media coverage of paedophilia, the society fascination and fear. Parents don't trust teachers, parents don't allow their children out as much as they used to, technology means we explore less in our childhood - which in turn means we want to extend our children's childhood.. none of these things is anything to do with a political party.. it's to do with society, media and technology. Having said all that.. I wouldn't expect a politician to say any different when attacking another party purely to make a point.. instead of actually coming to some kind of agreement or understanding.. it's far easier to pick up some wood and throw it - than use it to build a bridge!!
Here you will find political analysis from a conservative/libertarian perspective.
Individuals, families and communities are better placed to make decisions about their lives; it is not the job of government to meddle. Our civil liberties are being eroded in the UK by the most anti-libertarian government anyone can remember and I will always fight protect our rights.
