Nick Griffin's response to Question Time

Below is Nick Griffin's response to his appearance on Question Time. He thinks the programme was a lynch mob. Well he would, although my response to him would be when you try and defend the indefensible, you end up looking shifty and nervous. This is exactly how Mr Griffin looked.

Having said that, the Question Time format should have remained the same and there should have been questions about issues of the day affecting all of us, such as the postal strike. The BBC made the right decision to allow Mr Griffin on Question Time and expose him for what he is, however, it was wrong to change the format and give him the opportunity to claim he is a martyr.

A repeat performance for him? Perhaps.

You mention turning voters away, Andrew but it seems to have done the opposite because of the poor behaviour by the others, which played into his hands.

All the major parties have contributed to the rise of the BNP by their abandonment of the working class. It's no use denying it and putting yourselves forward as the answer. You're not and things will get worse until the issues that result in people voting BNP are resolved andf those people feel they still have a voice.

It seems as though the BNP are not on the march, James. Griffin's appearance has not given the BNP a poll bounce.

All parties to a certain extent bear some responsibility. It is interesting to note the representatives of the three main political parties did a great job of rubbishing Griffin and his views, but did not address many of the concerns people have over immigration. Jack Straw wriggled just as much as Griffin did when questioned over Labour's immigration policies over the last 12 years. It is Labour who bear the full responsibility for the rise of the BNP. If they had kept our borders secure, kicked out illegal immigrants and had not introduced a benefits system that made illegal immigrants flock to this country like bees to a pot of honey, we would not have seen the rise of fascism to the same extent as we are witnessing now.

If we forget the Churchill would be a BNP member and the non violent klu klux klan issues.. the rest of what Nick Griffin said was actually correct. Yes he had an agenda, but so do the other partys.

He made valid points, There is a minority WHITE race in this country - who are afraid to even say those words, because it's deemed racist! You only have to look at secondary school league tables - white boys are the lowest graded group, and white men are the highest rate suicide group!

People who come to this country SHOULD obey the rules. Why is that wrong to say? If I moved to Norway I'd be expected to speak Norwegian, and partake in the Norwegian way of life, no exceptions would be made for language. I wouldn't get special interpretations on leaflets or in schools for my children!

The original inhabitants of this island were WHITE! despite the fact Nick Griffin didn't admit (probably out of fear of being strung up) he is correct they were! Saxons were white, Viking where white! Scottish are white, welsh are white, irish are white. Is it racist to say that? NO.. it's racist to say that whites are better, but Nick Griffin never said that.. (for that matter neither did Enoch Powell!)

Many people agree that children should not be taught about homosexuals in primary schools! that's not homophobic.. nor is it homophobic for me to say the sight of two grown men kissing makes me feel uncomfortable.. no more than the sight of a man and woman kissing might make a homosexual feel uncomfortable - so why is it not right for me to say so!?

seems to me.. that most of this is about what is and what isn't allowed to be said anymore.

Andrew, it's about so much more than immigration. Sure that's a part of it but most of it is the fact that the working class has been left high and dry, and thanks to our economic miracle and brave new world they now have no job security or pension security, everything has to be paid for - dentists, eyecare, higher education etc, the utilities companies are coining it in, the public transport system is a disgrace and the health service that they rely on more than most of us is chronically underfunded. To top it off, all the politicians appear to be on the take and representing themselves more than their constituents.

The decline of a working class that actually works, into an underclass with no aspiration or chance of anything decent in life started with Mrs Thatcher and has been carried on willfully by Blair and now Brown. I am originally from a strong working class area that was once prosperous with mining. It is now a hotbed of BNP support. The people are mostly not 'racist' but they have no-one left to vote for.

Only when you see what those peoples' lives are, and admit the parts we have all played, will you be able to address the possible solutions...
